The direct vent Fire Ribbon offers most of the same unique design elements as our vent free Fire Ribbon but provides venting to the outside. This modern fireplace also offers the clean, simple look of a straight "ribbon of fire. The rectangular shape is complimented by a fixed glass window, that is required of all direct vent fireplaces. Direct vent fireplaces have revolution-ized fireplace placement in homes. Since they are vented directly to the outside through a hole in an exterior wall or roof, there is no need to construct a chimney. A direct-vent fireplace is a very efficient fireplace option. Since the fireplace draws air from the outside there are no drafts and no heat loss. In fact, these fireplaces operate at a near 80 percent efficiency rate.
