Dear American Heritage Fireplace ,

Eric and I would like to commend Vladimir and Joe on the amazing job they did with our fireplace and the woodwork surrounding it.

As you know, this was a big, difficult, custom job.  Our house is 113 years old and full of surprises!

Vladimir and Joe were absolutely terrific.  Of course they did all the "big things" right- they made sure the unit was properly installed, the woodwork around it was sturdy and attractive, etc.  But the little things amazed us.  They took care to minimize the amount of dust that got on our things.  They made sure not just that the overall fireplace was attractive, but that each detail was right.  They showed us how to use all features and made sure that we were comfortable with operating the fireplace, the pilot, and the gas line, before finishing.  They also worked with our busy schedules, which meant working near the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.  We're very grateful for that.

Vladimir is an outstanding carpenter and we would hire him again in a second.  He listened to what we had in mind and took a very basic sketch from me and ran with it, and the final product was better than we ever could have imagined.  Again, the attention to detail was incredible.  Look at how the wood grain matches up in the attached photos.  This is an absolutely beautiful custom piece of furniture-- more than just a "mantle"!

We use the fireplace literally every day.  The combination of the fireplace and our existing ceiling fan warms the front of our house very evenly and nicely.  The large Vail unit is perfect for our front space, and gives off just the right amount of heat.  At first we were nervous that a shallow, vent-free unit like the Vail would not be attractive, but it is absolutely beautiful.  You can see from the last image that even the cat now thinks that spending a few weeks in the back of the house was worth it!
